Sensational snappers reap rewards for Ashford ward
Posted on 6 January 2017
When Wendy Kelk, our Hospice Services Manager in Ashford, put out a call for new local-interest photographs to hang in the hospice ward corridors she wanted to provide a comforting and pleasing environment for patients and their visitors.
Thanks to a great response from some keen photographers who got snapping straight away for us we have achieved just that!
Pictures came in from across the Ashford area and the best were chosen to show local scenes that patients and families could recognise such as local beaches and high streets.
The photographs have now been mounted and are in place for everyone to enjoy.
It’s been wonderful to see so many striking photographs.
Wendy said: “It’s been wonderful to see so many striking photographs of so many local beauty spots. We have some very talented photographers, pictures were submitted by staff, volunteers and local camera clubs too.”
Wendy added: “Thank you to everyone who has helped in getting the project together, whether it has been taking the photographs, sourcing the frames or helping with the planning and mounting on our walls.
“The response from visitors and patients has been so positive, it’s reassuring to know that these small touches are helping with the wellbeing of all those we are caring for at Pilgrims.”
