Pilgrims Hospices Christmas Fair 2017

The annual Pilgrims Hospice Ashford Christmas Fair, held at The Towers School in Kennington on Saturday 11 November, has raised more than £18,000 for hospice care across east Kent.

For the first time, Santa was joined by other special guests including Elsa from Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Tinkerbell, Fireman Sam and several cast members of local pantomime, including Rapunzel. All delighted crowds with performances and selfies.

More than 2,000 people attended the fair to show their support for Pilgrims Hospices, supporting the local charity that provides a range of support for people with incurable illness in east Kent to help them live well in every moment.

With bargains on offer throughout the day, games galore and delicious refreshments made and donated by hospice volunteers, a fantastic time was had by all and more than £18,500 was raised.

Community Fundraising Manager, Victoria Friar, said: “We are all thrilled about the success of this event and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us. The funds raised could cover more than a month of our expert nursing care and will make a tremendous difference to our patients and their families. Many thanks to all of the volunteers and supporters who helped to make this success possible, including our sponsors Andrew & Co Estate Agents and The Towers School who generously allowed us to use their beautiful school again.”

The Ashford hospice’s next local event is Tree Recycling. Ashford Borough Council residents can register now to have their Christmas tree collected in January 2018 in return for their chosen donation to Pilgrims. There are lots more festive ways you can support Pilgrims, including personalised Gift Vouchers, Pilgrims Hospices Lottery Care this Christmas Superdraw and Santas on the Run!, a brand new festive fun run along Herne Bay seafront.

If you or your family are experiencing Pilgrims care, find out about the support Pilgrims can offer through our Wellbeing and Social Programme.
