Posted on 3 December 2012
Hundreds of visitors poured into Pilgrims Hospice Thanet on Saturday
(1 December) for its ever popular Christmas Fair.
Officially opened by Academy FM presenter Johnny Lewis and Thanet South MP Laura Sandys, the event made a staggering £8,271.88 for the charity.
Regional Fundraising Manager Karen Kenward said: “We’re delighted to have had so much support. I would like to thank everyone who made a donation, bought a raffle ticket or volunteered to make the day such a success.”
We really appreciate having Johnny Lewis, Laura Sandys, Thanet Concert Band, Wilkinson in Ramsgate, Miniature Donkeys, all the hospice staff and 85 volunteers who gave up their time to make the day so special. Father Christmas and his elf very kindly fitted us into their busy work schedule as well.”
The next major fundraising event in aid of Pilgrims Hospices will be the pantomine “A Lass in Blunderland” at the Theatre Royal, Margate. 21st – 23rd February 2013. Adults £8, children £6. Tickets can be booked via the box office on 01843 292795
