Pilgrims Hospices Thanet, were delighted when they heard they had been chosen as charity of the year by Oddfellows Club, Dover. John Morgan, club member, invited Karen Kenward, Regional Fundraising Manager to a cheque presentation at their club house in Dover on 3rd July 2013.
Mr Morgan said “The club has carried out many fundraising activities over the past twelve months and we are honoured to present Pilgrims Hospices with £800. The donation is a fitting memory to members who have received the excellent care provided by the Pilgrims.
Karen Kenward Regional Fundraising Manager went on to say; “We are so grateful to John and the Oddfellows club members for their generosity. We need to raise in excess of 10.5 million each year in order to be able to provide palliative care services free of charge to the local community. Fundraising is of vital importance and it is only through the continued generosity of supporters such as The Oddfellows that enables us to provide the care to all who need it in east Kent”
