Quiz night raises nearly £500
More than 70 local people joined a quiz night held at Orbit South’s extra care scheme Victoria Villa in Garlinge on Friday night to raise £500 for Pilgrims Hospices.
Organised by Orbit South scheme managers Jill Larcombe from Victoria Villa and Christine Scott from Napleton Court, the evening included brain teasers, courtesy of Lorna and Ian Day the quiz masters, and a heads and tails game, teddy bear auction and a raffle. It was certainly an evening of fun and laughter.
Jill Larcombe said: “The hospice is a local charity very dear to the hearts of our residents, which is why at the beginning of the year the hospice was chosen as our Charity of the Year.
“Residents have thoroughly enjoyed fundraising throughout the year at their events knowing what a difference their contribution will make.”
Diane Coates Fundraising and Marketing Assistant said: “We can’t thank everyone enough for their support. It was a wonderful evening and the funds raised will help us to continue to provide our services free of charge to the patients and their families in east Kent.”
