Members and friends of the Thanet Society of Druids have held raffles, quizzes and music nights throughout the year raising £701.40 for pilgrims Hospices.
Richard Baxter, a member of the society said: ‘The Thanet Society of Druids has over the last couple of years had several members who have needed to use the services of the Pilgrims Hospice.
“They were so impressed by the high level of care and attention paid to our members they decided to have some fundraising events to raise money for the hospice. After the last event, a charity night concert with performances from club members and with the assistance of entertainer Mick Minter, the total raised was just over £700.
“The TSD club is a small, family friendly club in Percy Road, Cliftonville. Saturday nights are the social nights with entertainment, raffles and nibbles. Non-members are welcome to visit, just pop in and ask for a committee member to sign you in as a guest to see if you like it.”
Diane Coates Fundraising and Marketing Assistant said: “We can’t thank everyone enough for their support. The Thanet Druids have worked hard throughout the year and the funds raised will help us to continue to provide our services free of charge to the patients and their families in east Kent.”
