Think Again

School activities

There is no end to children’s imaginations and they make wonderful little fundraisers.

Schools are very special to Pilgrims Hospices. We like to work with all shapes and sizes, from nurseries and primary schools to secondary and specialist schools. We enjoy hearing all about your fundraising and we are here to help, offer ideas and provide fundraising materials.

Getting your school involved

Thanet Fun Run winnersGet involved in our events!

We have many events throughout the year from Moonlight Walks to Fun Runs. Could you get a staff team together to run or walk at one of our events?  How about encouraging all the PE teachers to show how fit they are and enter into the spirit of healthy competition in aid of Pilgrims Hospices?  Staff from Willesborough Infants School participated in a walk as part of their school adoption and helped to raise over £600! Have a look at our events page and find an event that inspires you!

Visit the hospices

Birchington school with young volunteer MarekWhy not arrange for a small number of children to visit the hospices and report back to their classmates?  Our day hospices are open on Wednesdays and Thursdays and school choirs and music groups are very welcome to visit and give a short concert.

Our Canterbury hospice has a Labyrinth where teachers and pupils are very welcome to participate in a walk with our trained facilitators and learn about the history and benefits of Labyrinths.

The Forgotten Mourners

From talking to teachers and education workers, it is apparent that there is a local need for training and guidance for schools to help children and young people who are not only dealing with the everyday issues surrounding growing up, but the loss of a loved one as well.  For this reason, we have specially designed a unique one day stand-alone course ‘The Forgotten Mourners’ which we hope will be of benefit to your school and staff. For further details and to book a place on the course please see our dedicated page .
