Description

This is a one day programme run in an interactive and informal way to ensure each individual who attends receives practical advice and suggestions in caring for a person at the end of life.

Courses are held periodically at our venue, however this course is best suited to be held at your own site for groups of staff of between 6 – 12. Contact us to arrange a mutually convenient date.

This workshop covers:

  • Finding ways to communicate with the person in your care to establish their wishes and preferences
  • Improving confidence in having difficult conversations
  • Exploring what a ‘good’ death might be like, comfort and dignity
  • Practical ways to identify and alleviate basic, potentially uncomfortable conditions
  • Building confidence in identity changes caused by conditions and knowledge on the health or social professionals who may need to be involved
  • Exploring ways for carers to care for themselves

The costs for the  course on the above date is being met by the Kent & Medway End of Life Care Training project, funded by the South of England Strategic Health Authority.
