Description

This is a six-day course designed for Qualified Practitioners who work in hospices, hospitals, community, care homes and other independent organisations. The course aims to provide the opportunity to enhance knowledge in the principles and practices of palliative care. This is achieved through interactive sessions facilitated by the multi-disciplinary team members.

The course delivers up to date clinical education as part of the Kent and Medway Palliative Care Network Education Group looking at End of Life Care.

As a result of attending the workshop, delegates will:

  • Understand the philosophy of Palliative Care and the application of the Palliative Care approach in diverse clinical settings.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the process of comprehensive, holistic assessment and management of patients exhibiting a range of symptoms.
  • Explore their own contribution to the total care and management of the patient and their family from an inter-professional perspective
  • Utilise reflective skills in order to enhance practice development
