Best Practice Forum

speechEvery month we host a forum for end of life care professionals across east Kent.

For: All primary, secondary, palliative and community care professionals involved in end of life care.

Times: registration from 7pm, starts 7.30pm

Cost: free

It’s a chance for the multi-disciplinary team to get together in one space to share ideas, information and best practice to enhance the care of patients.iStock_000001287260Small copy

With increasing fragmentation in clinical care, changes in out-of-hours provision, and the multitude of professional disciplines involved within any single patient’s journey, we have learnt that ‘together we can do more’. This is a unique forum. There are no hidden agendas, be they political, drug industry or provider-based. This is a great opportunity to overcome barriers and involve the opinions and expertise of the whole team – doctors, nurses, pharmacists, community nurse specialists and any other professionals.

How are the sessions run?

The sessions focus on enhancing clinical care for the patients within our community. Delegates are invited to suggest topics they would like discussed at future forums. After a presentation by a local expert there is usually a discussion of the presentation including the sharing of best practice, symptom management and critical events.

A certificate and reflection template for your CPD portfolio will be provided.

Where is the forum held?

Either Canterbury or our Thanet hospice sites. Refreshments are provided at the meetings and there are car parks at the venues.
