We are one of the largest hospice organisations in the UK.
We do research, and participate in others' research, to continually improve care and outcomes for the community who live with life limiting illness, and their family and friends who we also support.
Through our research we aspire to be a leader in supporting and empowering people to live well with life limiting illness. Our research strengths lie in:
- Community services
- Non-malignant diseases and long term conditions
- Prediction of care needs
- Early assessment and planning.
We benefit from excellent links with the University of Kent and other educational partners, and we actively share our best practice findings to help ensure that:
- Palliative care meets the needs of its service users
- New ways of working are developed, evaluated and tested before being put into practice.

We welcome research ideas, collaborations and partnerships with external researchers to help us improve our services and care. This could involve Pilgrims being a site for your studies or us working with you to develop new projects.
Our research enables us to continually improve care and outcomes for people who are living with life limiting illness, and their family and friends who we support.
If you're receiving Pilgrims care or are a member of the public, find out how you could be involved in developing or supporting Pilgrims research.
