Pilgrims Hospices is looking for a Retail Sales Assistant to join the team in our Cliftonville Store, helping to support our retail managers, staff and volunteers with their day-to-day duties. 

The Role

As the Retail Sales Assistant you will assist the retail operations and ensure that they are a successful source of income generation whilst maintaining a good rapport with the wider retail team.  Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting agreed financial targets.
  • Ensuring highest standards of merchandising on the shop floor.
  • Receive, sort, prepare, price and maintain stock of donations for sale both in store & online.
  • Follow Pilgrims Hospices policies for the control, reconciliation and banking of daily takings and monthly returns to the finance department, ensuring security of data.
  • Provide a courteous and helpful service to the public.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role (28 hrs per week) and is based at Pilgrims Hospices’ Cliftonville Store. Working days will be 4 days between Monday and Sunday, allocated via a monthly rota, although you should be flexible.

  • Experience working in a target-driven retail environment.
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial mind.
  • A good standard of Numeracy and English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, personable and able to relate to volunteers
