Important Information about your Trek:

The weather in March on Everest Base Camp is typically cool, clear and dry with very minimal rainfall. Therefore, the visibility should be excellent for spotting the peaks. Temperatures during the day are likely to reach highs of 7 °C  but can drop to -12 °C at night, however that’s where your warm kit and cosy tea houses will come in!

On day three we are due to take an internal flight to Lukla. However, if they are unfortunately delayed due to unexpected weather, then:

There is a 1 contingency day included in the itinerary, which will be utilised.

  • 2 days of flight delays would require a helicopter on the descent back to Lukla (from Namche), where an extra payment would be required (it may be possible to claim this cost back from your insurance provider).
  • 3 days of flight delays would require an earlier Helicopter pickup (Periche) to Lukla, where an extra payment would be required (it may be possible to claim this cost back from your insurance provider).
  • More than this the trail becomes too dangerous to reach Basecamp. We would then switch the full trek to reaching the Ama Dablam Base Camp. This way you’ll still get to trek the Everest Base Camp trail part of the way and they get to reach the base camp of an absolutely stunning mountain. Far fewer trekkers come this way.
  • In 25 years of sending groups to Everest Base Camp, Action Challenge (our event partner) has only ever had one occasion of a 3 day delay.
