We recognise the vital role carers play every day; thank you for all that you do.
Many people are carers without realising it; we look after people around us because we want to, or because it feels like the right thing to do. It is difficult to separate what makes us a carer from the relationship we have with the person we care for. Once we can identify ourselves as a carer, it can help us access the right support - practical, financial and emotional.
A carer is anyone, including children, who looks after a family member, partner, friend or neighbour who needs help because of their illness, frailty or disability.
Caring tasks can include supporting someone practically, like doing their shopping or helping them to wash, or emotionally, like supporting someone with anxiety to attend health appointments.
Pilgrims recognises the vital role carers play in supporting people who are living with a life-limiting illness. We recognise the impact caring has physically, emotionally and financially.
We want to build a community where carers are visible at every stage of your person’s journey with us, and acknowledged in every interaction with us.
We currently offer groups and 1-1 support for carers.
