Pilgrims Hospices is seeking a Flexi Catering Assistant to join our team in Thanet. This is a rewarding opportunity to help create nutritious meals for patients, families, staff and visitors.

The Role

As a Catering Assistant at Pilgrims Hospices you will work as part of the Catering Team under the supervision of the Catering Manager. You must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that all standards are maintained to the required level.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Preparation and serving of meals for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Preparation of ingredients
  • Producing salads, sandwiches and other meals not requiring the expertise of a cook.
  • Ensuring all cutlery, crockery, flatware and equipment are cleaned to appropriate standards, either by hand or through use of a dishwasher.
  • Ensuring the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times within the department
  • Maintaining records as instructed by the catering manager.

This role is flexi (0 hours) position to assist with shortage of hours at PHA and long term sickness at PHT.

Shifts are worked on a flexible basis between Monday-Sunday to suit business needs. the successful candidate must be available to work a variety of early and late shifts, between between 07:00 and 19:30.

You will be provided with on-site parking, a uniform and subsidised meals during your work day.
