Karen Warden
Chair of the Board of Trustees
Karen has been a trustee at Pilgrims Hospices since 2018 and Chair of the Board since 2020.
Committed to supporting Pilgrims Hospices in every aspect, Karen particularly enjoys meeting with and working alongside the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly for those who need us in often very challenging times.
Karen is a strong believer that good governance and an excellent management and leadership team are the key to ensuring the effectiveness of any organisation.
She is a former Head of Executive Education at the ifs School of Finance, a leading provider of banking and financial services qualifications. Her clients included most, if not all, of the major banks and financial institutions in the UK and internationally. During her time in this role, she was the driving force behind creating the ifs’ Executive Education Masterclass programme that focused on bringing the leading experts in their field to hold topical workshops and development programmes with banking executives. After over two decades in the City, she founded Learning4Action, where she offered business performance coaching and mentoring and consultancy services, particularly in the not-for-profit sector.
Karen chairs the regional hospices Chair and CEO’s group and represents the region on Hospice UK’s Board of Chair’s Council.
In addition, she is Chair of Wye Heritage Centre and a trustee of Stour Music Company Ltd.
