Faye Hames

Trustee

Having worked in a care home as a teenager, Faye trained as a registered general nurse (RGN), and is now a Queen’s Nurse.

She has over 30 years NHS experience in several health settings, including the acute, community, voluntary, charity, commissioning services and primary care. Her passion for palliative care started in the early 1990s when she worked at two hospices in the Midlands.

After moving to east Kent, Faye had the privilege to develop a community-based lymphoedema service before moving to an end-of-life commissioning role.

She is experienced in developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders and building multi-agency networks.

Faye is motivated by a desire to positively influence change across health and social care, and believes that the best option to get good outcomes for patients is to become engaged with local services to understand how they are delivered.

Faye is a team-based coach and peer mentor for Kent and Medway.

She is married with two adult children, and in her spare time she likes to walk, travel and be with family.
