Come and experience the amazing atmosphere of one of the most iconic sporting events in the world, running in support of Pilgrims Hospices. Each year, more than 40,000 runners flock to London to take on the London Marathon, the largest annual fundraising event in the world.
Pilgrims Hospices are giving you the opportunity to experience this incredible event, whilst supporting people living with incurable illness across east Kent.
Since 1981, the London Marathon has weaved from east to west through the heart of the capital, from Greenwich to Buckingham Palace.
Beginning in Greenwich park, you’ll look over the beautiful city of London before it’s filled with like-minded runners taking on their own London Marathon. As you head for Westminster, you’ll pass Charlton House, the Royal Artillery Barracks and the historic Cutty Sark. At 12.5 miles, you’ll experience the famous atmosphere of Tower Bridge, full of crowds cheering and applauding your efforts.
After running through Canary Wharf, you’ll catch a glimpse of the 02 arena before turning West to complete your final miles. You’ll enjoy famous views of the London Eye and Big Ben across the River Thames as you run along the Victoria Embankment. Then, in the final miles, you’ll emerge into St James’s Park before turning onto the Mall by Buckingham Palace as you cross the finish line to the roar of the crowd.
