Volunteer Receptionist – Canterbury
Pilgrims Hospices Canterbury is looking for Volunteer Receptionists to cover various shifts from Monday to Sunday.
Role
Volunteer Receptionists play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and professional first point of contact for all visitors, patients, and staff at Pilgrims Hospices. This role helps ensure the smooth running of our reception, coffee shop and visitor services, while supporting patients, families, staff, and fellow volunteers.
You will welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner, handle enquiries, answer and direct telephone calls, and provide information about hospice services. The role includes processing donations and sales, operating the till, taking food orders, maintaining clean and secure reception and coffee areas, and supporting staff and volunteers as required.
About you
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy working as part of a team, and be flexible with the ability to multitask. You will be reliable, conscientious, and committed to delivering a high-quality service, with the patience, sensitivity, and positive attitude needed to respond appropriately in challenging situations.
You will receive full training and ongoing support. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to shadow existing volunteers.
