The routes

With four routes to choose from, the Miner’s Way Challenge is perfect for all of the family.

  • The Challenge – Half Marathon Training Run View map

Take on the ultimate test of endurance with our multi-terrain half marathon, following the historic Miner’s Way Trail from Aylesham to Betteshanger Country Park. This 13.1-mile route winds through woodland, fields, and village trails, before finishing in the heart of Betteshanger. Perfect for runners looking for a rewarding long-distance challenge!

  • The Loop The Loop – 20km x6 Lapped Run View map

For those who prefer speed and rhythm, The Loop The Loop offers a 20km training run on the smooth, tarmacked roads of Betteshanger Country Park. The closed-loop course is ideal for marathon training, with its flat and smooth running surface it is ideal for anyone wanting an extra challenge with a longer distance but on a more even and consistent track. Perfect for runners preparing for spring marathons, such as London or Brighton!

  • The Circuit – 10km x3 Lapped Run View map

For those who prefer a shorter distance, The Circuit offers a 10km training run on the smooth, tarmacked roads of Betteshanger Country Park. The closed-loop course is ideal for setting a personal best, running with friends, or simply enjoying the park’s wide paths and stunning scenery. Whether you’re new to running or chasing a PB, The Circuit is a perfect fit. (The graph below shows the elevation for the full 20km route/6 laps).

  • The Explorer – 3km Family Trail Run View map

The Explorer is all about fun, family, and adventure. This short, themed trail around Betteshanger Country Park is designed for children, families, and walkers to enjoy together. Follow the clues, spot the wildlife, and discover the secrets of the park as you go. It’s the perfect way to introduce young adventurers to the excitement of running and being active outdoors.
