Wing Walking – July 2026

Sunday 5 July 2026

Join Pilgrims Hospices for the ultimate adrenaline rush with our Wing Walking Challenge! Strapped to the wing of a vintage Boeing Stearman biplane, you’ll soar through the skies at up to 120mph – an experience you’ll be sure to never forget.

Feel the wind on your face, take in breath-taking views of the east Kent countryside, and enjoy the closest thing to flying you’ll ever get, all while raising vital funds for local hospice care. It’s the kind of story you’ll be sharing for years to come, and the perfect way to make a difference while ticking something unforgettable off your bucket list. So… are you ready to reach new heights for Pilgrims?

Dates

  • Sunday 5 July 2026 (10:00 – 12.00pm)
  • Sunday 16 August 2026 (10:00 – 12.00pm)

One past wing walker summed it up perfectly:

“I’m so proud to have taken on this amazing challenge. Once I climbed onto the wing and was strapped in, I expected nerves – but instead, I felt an incredible sense of calm. I smiled the whole way through! As we landed, I just dissolved into tears. It was joy, pride, and emotion all at once. I really felt Mum was watching over me. Now I just want to do it all over again!”

What do I need to do?

Signing up is easy:

  1. Fill out our quick online form.

  2. Then, we’ll get in touch to confirm availability and arrange payment of your £40 deposit to secure your spot.

  3. Raise at least £650 in sponsorship, and your wing walk will be completely FREE!

(Deposits are non-refundable, but don’t worry as they count towards your sponsorship target!)

Can anyone take part?

Yes, anyone over 18 years old can do a wing walk. Experience isn’t necessary. You’ll receive all the training you need on the day and will have the opportunity to tailor your flight with the pilot to either achieve the maximum adrenaline experience for you or a more relaxed flight.

For safety reasons, a few restrictions do apply:

  • If you’re aged between 66 – 80 years of age, a GP’s declaration of good health for your age is required.
  • You must sign a declaration of fitness in order to participate.
  • There is an upper weight limit of 89kgs (14st). You may be weighed during registration.
  • There is a height limit of 6ft 2 inches (189cm).

You can learn more about what to expect on the day and the wing walking criteria by visiting The Wing Walking Company’s website.
