A life behind every leaf

For many, having a lasting tribute to a loved one is an important part of their bereavement journey. By dedicating a leaf on the beautiful Memory Trees you can remember and celebrate the life of someone you love while making a real difference for other families who need our care.

Our beautiful tree sculptures are handcrafted, and decorated with Copper, Silver and Gold leaves, and Platinum doves – all engraved with the names of loved ones.

The Memory Trees are on permanent display in the receptions of each hospice. They are open to anyone wishing to have a lasting tribute, not just those touched by hospice care. You can visit your dedication at any time you wish and take a quiet moment to reflect.

Whenever I visit the hospice, I always go and look at the Memory Tree and think about Jill, and it’s very comforting to see that she will never be forgotten.

Your dedication will remain on your chosen Tree for as long as you wish. You can pay annually, or set up a monthly Direct Debit to spread the payment across the year.

Please see below for the choice of dedications you can make.

Copper Leaf

Dedicate a copper leaf and provide two counselling sessions for a patient or family member in need of emotional support.

For your payment of £10 a month or £120 a year, you can make a one-line dedication.

Silver Leaf

Your dedication of a silver leaf would pay for a physiotherapy session for a patient every month, to help them stay active as possible for as long as possible.

For your payment of £25 a month or £300 a year, you can make a two-line dedication.

Gold Leaf

A gold leaf would help our community nursing team provide care and comfort for a patient in their own home.

For your payment of £50 a month or £600 a year, you can make a three-line dedication.

Platinum Dove

Your dedication of a platinum dove could bring care and comfort to a patient being supported by Pilgrims nurses on one of our wards.

For your payment of £100 a month or £1,200 a year, you can make a three-line dedication.

 

  • Each leaf and dove is limited to a certain number of characters, this limit includes spaces and punctuation. When submitting your intended dedication, please take this into consideration.
    • Copper: One line, 16 characters
    • Silver: Two lines, 18 characters per line
    • Gold: Three lines, 18 characters per line
    • Dove: Three lines, 18 characters per line
  • Each leaf and dove will be engraved with the instructed dedication when the application is received. Please check your intended dedication and the spelling carefully when submitting your request. If we are uncertain of any spelling or your dedication does not fit on your chosen leaf, we will contact you. We regret that we do not allow any dates, or religious references, on leaves or doves.
  • Pilgrims Hospices reserves the right to refuse any application at its discretion.
  • There is a limited number of spaces on the Memory Tree. In the event the tree is full at the time of your application, your leaf or dove will be added when the next space becomes available. In this circumstance, we will notify you.
  • We are unable to backdate any donations to put toward, or fund, a leaf or dove. Any donation you make for a leaf or dove, is in addition to any funds already received.
  • If fundraising for a leaf or dove, this must be made clear to those intending to contribute at the point of donation. Existing funds already donated as part of a funeral collection, cannot be used to fund a leaf or dove, unless with prior agreement with Pilgrims Hospices.
  • Please note that payments for, or toward, a leaf or a dove are not eligible for Gift Aid. If intending to fundraise for a leaf or dove, this must be made clear to potential contributors.
  • In exceptional circumstances, Pilgrims Hospices reserves the right to relocate the Memory Tree to another area within the Hospice premises.
  • By submitting an application for The Memory Tree, you acknowledge and agree that the personal details provided will be used and stored in accordance with Pilgrims Hospices Privacy Policy. The policy can be read here
