Sunflower Memories 2024
A huge, heartfelt thank you goes out to all who have participated in Sunflower Memories, and joined us at our Sunflower Days in the hospice gardens.
On Saturday 20 July, over 700 of you joined us to celebrate the lives of your loved ones in the hospice gardens of Canterbury, Thanet and Ashford. The dedicated sunflowers shone brightly in the sunshine, as the sharing of precious memories sounded throughout the tranquil settings.
Our Therapy Centres were open to welcome visitors to enjoy refreshments, and to take part in bookmark making and pebble painting led by Pilgrims' Wellbeing Teams. Refreshments were enjoyed by all that attended, with strawberries kindly donated by S&A Produce, Tesco Community Champions and Marks & Spencer.
We are delighted to announce that so far, the appeal has raised £34,000! This incredible amount is enough to fund the entire cost of Pilgrims Hospices Community Care teams for over one week, and we cannot begin to thank you enough.
A huge thank you goes out to all who were involved in making the Sunflower Days such a success, including our dedicated staff, amazing volunteers and keen crafters who donated sunflower crafts to sell in exchange for donations on the day. Also, a special thanks goes out to the hospice volunteer gardening teams and Meadow Grange for growing real sunflower plants available to purchase on the day. Our Sunflower Days simply could not of gone ahead without this incredible support, and we would like to sincerely thank all those who helped make our 11th Sunflower Memories such a special one.
There is still time to donate to have a dedicated sunflower memory marker sent to you at home. To dedicate a sunflower in memory of your loved one, follow the link below or call our friendly Supporter Relations Team on 01227 782062

I find such comfort in coming back to the hospice to remember him, and these events are such a wonderful opportunity and excuse to do so. I want to keep celebrating him and seeing his name written somewhere.
