Maintenance Engineer
Location: Ashford
Status: Part-time, 14 hours / 2 days per week
Salary: £8,961.20 (£22,403 FTE)

Pilgrims Hospices is looking for an experienced and efficient Maintenance Engineer to join our team, responsible for the reactive and planned maintenance of the buildings and estate at our Ashford Hospice.
The Role
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out maintenance duties to support the smooth running of the Pilgrims Hospices site:
- Daily inspection of site and maintenance and repairs as required
- Care of Hospice gardens including liaison with a team of volunteer gardeners
- Redecoration/improvements to the building/estate
- Maintain accurate records in relation to fire, electrical and gas and water safety checks
- Portering duties as required which may include visits to pharmacy/hospital/banks/equipment moves/post runs
The post holder must ensure that maintenance is completed to a high standard, in line with standards expected within a healthcare environment.

Working Arrangements
This is a part-time role offering 14 hours per week. You will need to cover holidays, sickness absence and other sites therefore flexibility is essential. You will be provided with on-site parking and subsidised meals during your work day.
About You
To be successful in this role you should:
- Have experience of working in a facilities maintenance role
- Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Practical trade skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise a workload based on changing service needs
- Clean driving licence, able to drive cars and vans
