A Christmas jingle with a twist
Posted on 10 December 2012
Ashford Invicta Singers recorded an unusual song this week, the Pilgrims Hospice Christmas Treecycling jingle.
Are you always at a loss to know what to do with your real Christmas tree after all the decorations have come down? Do you really want to fill your car with pine needles as you try to squash it into the boot to get it to the tip?
In the words of Ashford Invicta Singers, Pilgrims Hospice Ashford has the solution:
“Christmas Tree, Christmas Tree
When your time is through
The Pilgrims Hospice website
Will show you what to do
We will come, pick it up
Take it all away
Get rid of your real Christmas tree
The Pilgrims Hospice Way”
Richard Foulger, choir member and hospice volunteer explained: “Pilgrims have decided to trial this initiative in Ashford for the first time. For a donation volunteers will collect your tree from your doorstep and take it away for recycling into chippings.
If you would like to take advantage of this scheme, you can visit the website www.pilgrimshospices.org for more details or call the fundraising office on 01233 504111.
As this scheme is being manned by volunteers, every penny donated will go to Pilgrims enabling them to continue to offer a full range of community programmes and Day Hospice activities, as well as care for in-patients.
