Red Lion Raises over £900

Ben Edwards and the team from the Red Lion in Hernhill, near Faversham raised an impressive £924 during their music festival, held on the August bank holiday. Harry’s Run Raises £2,000!

Talented 17 year old Harry Roberts visited Pilgrims Hospices in Canterbury last week to hand over a cheque for over £2,000, raised during his 20 mile seafront run earlier this year.

Pilgrims Hospices receives boost from Co-Operative Funeralcare

Pilgrims Hospices continues to benefit from support from the Co-operative Funeralcare in Canterbury. Staff from the Sturry Road store ran a popular Tombola stall at the London Road hospice’s summer fair, raising £290. This amount was topped up by the Co-operative’s boost fund by a further £100.

Taste of Success for Pilgrims Hospice and Mr. Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe

Several donations from Canterbury’s Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe in High Street, Canterbury have led to Pilgrims Hospices being chosen as its charity of the year. After giving raffle prizes for the London Road hospice’s Spring and Christmas fairs, Linda Foster from the sweet shop chose the hospice to be beneficiary of more donations throughout the coming 12 months.

Body Shop Pampering at Pilgrims Hospices

Staff from the Body Shop in Canterbury volunteered at Pilgrims Hospice Canterbury on Tuesday 3rd July by offering patients a range of mini treatments. The hospice, in London Road, Canterbury has been chosen as one of the Body Shop’s community partners.

On Friday May 4th Holiday Extras’ Team Charity held a Star Wars themed day. This involved people dressing up as Star Wars characters, a Star Wars bake-off (where people brought in cakes and sold them for charity) and a Star Wars quiz. Prizes were given for the best dressed male and female, and for the first place and runner up positions in the quiz.
