Pilgrims Hospices has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Education and Training Lead to join our team, to review, plan and implement training and education to ensure that as an organisation we are providing up-to-date, high standards of patient care. As a provider at the forefront of end-of-life care in east Kent, Pilgrims Hospices offers specialist training and development, both internally and to external partners, and the successful applicant will therefore have the opportunity to influence and improve practice across the local healthcare environment.
As the Clinical Education and Training Lead, your main responsibilities and duties will include:
- The design, development and delivery of training programmes internally and externally
- Supporting high-quality patient care through the provision of evidence-based training
- Supporting and mentoring other staff in the delivery of training
- Liaising with external partners to ensure education and training programmes meet key local needs
The post-holder must ensure that services are provided to a high standard, in line with mandatory and best practice guidelines.

This is a full-time role (35 hrs per week) and is based at Pilgrims Hospice Canterbury, although you may occasionally be asked to travel between our three hospice sites. Working days will usually be Monday to Friday. You will be provided with on-site parking and subsidised meals during your work day.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Proven management experience and skills
- At least four years’ experience of developing or delivering teaching/training in a clinical setting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Extensive understanding of palliative and end-of-life care practice
- A full understanding of CQC requirements relating to staff training and development
- Formal qualification in teaching and/or training
- Postgraduate teaching qualification
- Accredited/registered health care professional
- Willingness to work across Pilgrims Hospices sites
- Access to own transport
