Deputy Head of Nursing

Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent are looking for an exceptional person with comprehensive senior nursing expertise to join our Nursing Leadership team. You will be responsible for the delivery of our community nursing services and will actively contribute to high level decision making and development of our clinical workforce.
Supported by a team of healthcare professionals, the post holder will:
- Work with the Head of Nursing and Director of Nursing and Care to develop and deliver our clinical strategic plan, promote clinical governance and quality and engage with external community nursing ad care partners;
- Lead and manage our community nursing teams to deliver exceptional services across East Kent, including our Hospice at Home staff, Palliative Specialist Nurses and our new Clinical Nurse Specialists;
- Delivery management and governance tasks across our community nursing teams including development of policy and practices, project management, external engagement and budget management;
- Deliver clinical services as required within own scope of practice.
To be successful in this role your will need:
- Previous experience of managing and leading people as a senior post holder;
- A masters degree or equivalent experience, supported by a qualification in end of life / palliative care;
- Advanced symptom management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Duration: This role is offered on a permanent basis, based at one of our three Hospice sites with frequent travel across East Kent.
