Facilities and Site Manager Ashford

Location: Pilgrims Hospice Ashford, TN24 0NE

Status: Full time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £39,173 per annum

Closing date: 27/01/2025

Interview date: 05/02/2025

You end your work week knowing that you have made an incredible difference to families across east Kent.

Are you experienced in facilities or site management and looking to make a meaningful difference?

In this role, you’ll be pivotal in creating a safe, welcoming and efficient environment for everyone at the hospice – from patients and visitors to staff and volunteers. You’ll oversee vital areas such as health and safety, site cleanliness, maintenance,  reception management, sustainability, and the upkeep of our beautiful interiors and gardens. Your work will ensure the hospice remains a place where people feel comfortable and safe.

Leading a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, you’ll maintain high standards in cleanliness, safety, and comfort, all in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines. Whether managing maintenance projects, collaborating with volunteers, or planning spaces that are functional and comforting, you’ll make a positive impact every day.

Support and collaboration

You’ll have two counterparts at sister sites, offering a supportive network for advice and collaboration. This setup ensures your workload is handled during annual leave, so you can return to work refreshed.

What we offer

At Pilgrims, we provide a stable, supportive environment where every team member plays a part in delivering exceptional care. Despite the challenges facing healthcare providers, we’re financially secure, allowing us to invest in our people, infrastructure, and services.

If you’re a problem-solver with an eye for detail who enjoys leading teams and making a real difference, this could be the perfect role for you.

The team

As well as working closely with your colleagues in identical roles at our sites in Canterbury and Thanet, you will manage a team of paid staff, including domestic, maintenance and gardening, but also look after some of our incredible volunteers who keep the organisation going.

About Pilgrims Hospices

Pilgrims provide care and support for patients with life limiting illness, and their families, in wards and private rooms thoughtfully designed for comfort and care.

As well as caring for their medical needs, we support our patients to feel comfortable and happy, whether by spending time in our beautiful gardens, having pampering days, playing a board game with their loved ones, eating their favourite meal, or whatever is special to them.
