Retail Area Manager
Location: Tivoli Brooks, Margate
Status: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

Pilgrims Hospices is looking for a full-time Retail Area Manager to join the team, helping to co-ordinate the effective operation and management of various stores, retail staff and volunteers, as well as the day-to-day service of the shop.
The Role
As the Retail Area Manager you will ensure that all of the shops in your area are a successful source of income generation whilst maintaining a good rapport with the wider retail team. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Budget responsibility
- To carry out regular inspections of shop properties, and advise any maintenance issues that may arise.
- To benchmark shop presentation and performance with other charity and main stream retailers in the local vicinity.
- Working with the Head of Retail, the post holder will assist with the development and achievement of an annual revenue and sales plan for each shop.
- On all shop visits, conduct ‘short audit’ and share findings with Shop Manager and Area Managers with a view to improving standards

Working Arrangements
This is a full-time role (35 hrs per week). The role is based at Pilgrims Hospices’ Tivoli Brooks, overseeing the day to day running of Pilgrims Hospices shops in Birchington, Broadstairs, Canterbury (Bookshop), Cliftonville, Deal, Faversham, Herne Bay, Margate (Bookshop), Sandwich, Tivoli Brooks (Shop), and Westgate-on-Sea). Working days will be between Monday and Sunday, with a regular shift pattern allocated, although you should be flexible.
About You
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Experience working in a working in a multi-site retail management role.
- Experience of developing a high performing team.
- A clean driving licence
- Entrepreneurial and commercial mind.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English
- Motivator of people, with an eye for recognizing the potential of people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, personable and able to relate to volunteers
- A flexible and positive attitude
