Retail Supervisor – Chartham Furniture

Location: Chartham, Canterbury

Status: Permanent, Part-time, 14 hours per week

Salary: £8,511.20 per annum

Pilgrims Hospices is looking for a Retail Supervisor to join the team in our Chartham Furniture Store, helping to support our retail managers, staff and volunteers with their day-to-day duties. 

The Role

As the Retail Supervisor you will assist the retail operations and ensure that they are a successful source of income generation whilst maintaining a good rapport with the wider retail team.  Your main responsibilities will include:

  • To support the Retail Manager with the day to day running of the shop.
  • Meeting agreed financial targets.
  • Maintaining effective stock management and merchandising.
  • Managing and training volunteers.
  • Carrying out shop administration.
  • Ensuring adequate security.
  • Following health and safety policy & procedures and giving training when needed..
  • Implementing and ensuring the growth or our Gift Aid scheme.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role (14 hrs per week) and is based at Pilgrims Hospices Chatham Furniture Store. The post will be required to work 2 shifts per week of 7 hours, between Monday – Sunday.

  • Experience working in a target-driven retail environment.
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial mind.
  • A good standard of Numeracy and English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, personable and able to relate to volunteers
  • A flexible and positive attitude
