Pilgrims Hospices provides end of life care and support for patients with a range of life-limiting illnesses and their families across East Kent.

Pilgrims Retail is developing, and therefore we are looking people with a passion for retail to join our team, as we work towards our 2025 strategy. We currently operate 33 shops throughout East Kent, compromising of general shops, furniture shops and specialist book and vintage shops. We also operate 2 warehouses within the East Kent area.

We are looking for a dynamic Retail Supervisor who has retail experience to support a team of both staff and volunteers.

Our Retail Supervisors are responsible for the daily running of the shop, including stock control, visual merchandising, gift aid and management of volunteers.

Retail Supervisor Requirements:

  • To support the Retail Manager with the day to day running of the shop.
  • Meeting agreed financial targets.
  • Maintaining effective stock management and merchandising.
  • Managing and training volunteers.
  • Carrying out shop administration.
  • Ensuring adequate security.
  • Following health and safety policy & procedures and giving training when needed..
  • Implementing and ensuring the growth or our Gift Aid scheme.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role (14 hrs per week) and is based at Pilgrims Hospices, Chartham Furniture Warehouse.

About You

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Retail Sales experience
  • Previous experience working with and/or managing a volunteer workforce
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A willingness to learn and seek advice
