Paws 4 Pilgrims cancelled following Government guidance

The ongoing health crisis is at the forefront of many of our minds and, here at Pilgrims Hospices, we’ve been monitoring the guidance from authorities to inform how best we can do our part to protect our patients, staff, volunteers and, of course, the wider community that we serve.

Following the announcement made by government (16th March), advising the population to avoid all non-essential travel and contact, we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming Paws 4 Pilgrims event that was scheduled to take place in Deal on Sunday 29th March 2020.

This spring, join hundreds of dog walkers as you embark on our popular 5km sponsored dog walk along the beautiful Deal coastline towards Walmer before returning. After the walk, why not enter your furry friend in some of the classes in our fun dog show; with ‘fastest sausage catcher’ and ‘dog most like its owner’ being popular choices. With refreshments and stalls to enjoy too, it’s a great day out for the whole family. Paws for thought and raise funds for Pilgrims!

Entry

Early bird entry (closed)

Standard entry (closes 22/03/2020) and On the Day entry

  • 12 years and over: £10     11 years and under: £6     Family: £30

Family entry includes 2 people of 12 years and over plus 2 people of 11 years and under.

Fun dog show

There will be a fun dog show after the walk which dogs can be entered into for £2 per class.

Classes include:

  • Dog most like its owner
  • Fastest sausage catcher
  • Cutest puppy
  • Waggiest tail
  • Dog the judge most wants to take home
  • and many more…

Fundraising

There’s no minimum sponsorship; dogs are asked to use their puppy dog eyes to raise as much sponsorship as they can!

What happens on the day?

  • 8.30am: Registration opens
  • 10.30am – 12pm: 5k walk along the Deal coastal route
  • 12pm – 3.30pm: Fun dog show
