Guides on the Right Path
On a cold November night 1st Ruckinge Guides raised £242.50 for Pilgrims Hospices by organising an ‘Incident Hike’ through Ruckinge. This week they presented a cheque to Nigel Donkin, Regional Fundraising Manager, as a result of their fundraising efforts.

Sunshine and snowdrops bring Pilgrims Hospices supporters to Swarling Manor
On Sunday 19th February Swarling Manor in Petham welcomed Pilgrims Hospices supporters to their Snowdrop Walk. The snowdrops were in full bloom and visitors were able to walk around the grounds of the stately home in glorious sunshine, unlike the weather two weeks ago! Sponsored Head Shave
Frances Tracey from Margate has arranged a sponsored head shave at Snips Barbers, Westgate on Sea to raise funds for Pilgrims Hospices on Saturday 31st March at 2pm. Pilgrims Hospices is encouraging the community to sponsor her via Snips Barbers or by popping along to support her on the day.
Another Chapter in Fundraising for Pilgrims Hospices
A generous donation was presented to Mrs Deirdre Mewse at Smiths Medical International Ltd, Ashford on Thursday 9th February by Mr Steve Ogilvie Director of IT Governance and Security following some ‘novel’ fundraising!

Hospice Services Available in Dover for First Time
Pilgrims Hospices has successfully launched a patient support group in Dover. The weekly group for patients and carers is held at the Phoenix Railway Social Club in Crabble Road and means that patients no longer need to travel to the hospice in Canterbury for support from professionals and their peers.

Celebrity signs up for Piece of Cake
Great British Baker and Kentish cook, Paul Hollywood is the first person to pledge his support for Pilgrims Hospices Piece of Cake Week in 21st – 27th April. The popular fundraising event is being held for the second time and local supporters are being encouraged to bake or buy cakes and share them with their friends, family or colleagues for the benefit of their local hospice.
Faversham shoppers in for a treat with new look store
Pilgrims Hospices charity shop in West Street, Faversham was re-opened on Thursday 9th February by Richard Morey, the Chairman of the Board of the Trustees. Hospice Funds Rocket with Givaudan Fireworks
On Thursday 2nd February Pilgrims Hospices representatives were invited to a lunch to celebrate the hard work of the Givaudan fundraising committee. Their efforts over the past year have included a fantastic firework display enjoyed by staff and Ashford locals alike. Friday 4th November 2011, saw a stunning pyrotechnic display along with many fun attractions in the grounds.
Daisy Washington Memorial Day
As part of their continued determination to keep their daughter’s name remembered, Daisy Washington’s parents have successfully raised funds for charity since her tragic death in 2007 in a road accident.
