Charis goes NUTS for Pilgrims
On Saturday 2nd March Charis Darby along with her friend Gemma Hurd, took part in the NUTS Challenge, a 7km military assault course that’s ‘one of the most challenging… in the world’.
Running the 7km course in 2 hours 33 minutes and 20 second, it was a muddy and challenging experience for Charis, but one that enabled her to raise over £200 for Pilgrims Hospices.
She explained, “We were very muddy by the time we were only about half a kilometre into the course, but we were smothered from head to foot in the stuff by the time we finished! It was very cold and it involved a lot of getting wet so it was definitely a challenge but I’m really happy to have done it!
“I wanted to raise money for Pilgrims as it is a lovely charity and did a really great job looking after my mum., Paulette Darby when she was in their care”
Nigel Donkin, regional fundraising manager said, “It is always great when people take part in such fun challenges and use it as a way to raise funds for a good cause. The money will enable Pilgrims to continue to provide care for those who are in need of our services.”
