Ladies Masonic Weekend Festival Raises £882!
Posted on 24 January 2013
The Fundraising team in Canterbury were the lucky recipients of a cheque for £882 this week, raised at a local Masonic Ladies Weekend Festival last year.
The festival, which was held by the Rangoon and Almond Isles Lodge on the 27th October, was a huge success. Mark and Janice Rosen were delighted with the amount raised.
Mark and his wife Janice, held the event at another one of Pilgrims Hospices supporters, Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel. They were delighted with the sum raised.
“We picked Pilgrims this year because it is a local charity. Our Masonic group is London-based but we live just outside Canterbury in Bossingham and wanted to support people in our community as opposed to a big national charity. We hope that we can now spread the word of hospice work across to other groups to encourage them to support their local hospices.”
Laura Duncan, Fundraising and Marketing Assistant, was pleased with the sum raised. “It is a fantastic sum of money and we are very grateful that Mark and Janice have chosen to support us. It is also a great example of the local community working hard to raise money for us. We receive over 75% of our funding from the local community and groups such as this are vital to enabling us to raise the £9.5million we need to raise each year. We hope to continue working with Mark and Janice to raise awareness of hospice services.”
