Course description
Do you know how to talk to someone worried or distressed?
This foundation-level SAGE & THYME workshop provides transferrable skills for staff at all levels, working in both clinical and non-clinical positions to enhance care for those in distress or with emotional concerns.
Learning outcomes:
- A memorable structured approach for getting into and out of a conversation
- How to empower patients/carers who are worried or distressed
- Communication-based skills that are evidence-based
This workshop is interactive and uses a mix of small group work, lectures, and rehearsals to teach participants how to have an evidence-based, structured conversation with someone who has concerns or is distressed.
The skills taught can be used by anyone to provide person-centred support to those with emotional concerns.
Certificates of attendance will be issued.
