Ward Support Volunteer

Location: Ashford, Canterbury, Thanet

Status: See below for hours

Pilgrims Hospices has a brand new and exciting volunteering opportunity available at its hospice sites in east Kent.

Would you like to make a positive and direct difference to the people that Pilgrims support and care for?

Pilgrims is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate people with good communication and listening skills to undertake its new Ward Support Volunteer role in its Inpatient Units.

The aim of this role is to place patients at the centre of everything the charity does and to provide positive engagement and emotional support, whilst meeting holistic needs of the people it cares for.

Volunteers will work closely with the multi-professional team on a daily basis, adding value to patients, visitors, fellow volunteers and staff. The role will form a key part of the welcoming atmosphere Pilgrims aspires to achieve on the wards at all times and you will receive full training and ongoing support.

Shifts will usually be between 9.00am and 2.00pm or 3.00pm and 7.00pm,and we are looking for Volunteers to fill these shifts on a Saturday and Sunday at each Hospice Site. We would also be happy to consider anyone interested in a flexible volunteering opportunity. A copy of the role description can be found at the below link.
