Grief Awareness Training

Course description

On average, for every person who dies, there will be nine people left bereaved – partners, family members, friends, colleagues, neighbours.

At some point, every one of us will be affected by grief or know someone who is.

Grief is a natural, normal and necessary reaction to loss, but one that can feel overwhelming and have a huge impact on someone’s life.

Stepping Stones Grief Awareness programme is an introduction to grief and bereavement support for anyone who regularly has contact with bereaved people, helping you to:

  • Understand how the grief process works, what normal grief looks like and when grief reactions may be unhealthy
  • Recognise the need for bereavement support and what can help, including Pilgrims’ Stepping Stones Bereavement Support service
  • Develop communication skills to support bereaved people who may be distressed
