Jade’s Brave Abseil for Pilgrims Hospices!
On Saturday 17th November, Jade Blackmer, 15, from Herne Bay completed an abseil from St. Anne’s Court in Herne Bay to raise money for Pilgrims Hospices. Jade, who attends Herne Bay High School was keen to support the London Road hospice who cared for her Nan, Edith Williams and took part in the event which was organized by the KM Charity Team.
Jade’s mum Julie said: “Although Mum spent less than a week there she was immediately given the pain relief she so badly needed and was made to feel so comfortable and so welcome. We cannot thank the staff enough for their support.”
Jade raised an incredible £286. She was supported by eight members of the Whitstable Toy Run Association who also collected sponsorship money, bumping the group’s total to over £500.
Deborah Kellond, Regional Fundraising Manager was delighted with the total raised and with Jade’s bravery. “What an incredible total. Jade has worked extremely hard and has certainly taken a huge step out of her comfort zone to raise money for Pilgrims Hospices.”
Jade is still accepting donations at http://www.justgiving.com/Jade-Blackmer2 and feels very proud with what she has achieved so far. She is keen to take part in more adrenaline charged events, so watch this space!
